In 1926, the Capuchin Franciscan Fathers in Burlingame established Our Lady of Angels parish. One year later, under the guidance of the Sisters of Mercy, a parish school opened to 80 students in grades one through six. Ninety-six years later, the school has nine classes serving over 300 students (196 families) in kindergarten through eighth grade. 

In 1996 the last Mercy sister retired from staff. Since then, dedicated lay personnel, and one religious Adrian Dominican sister, have guided the academic and spiritual growth of Our Lady of Angels students. Together with the Capuchin Franciscan priests and a generous parent community, the committed lay faculty and staff have upheld the ideals of excellence in Catholic education.
