School of Religion

Our Lady of Angels Parish

School of Religion

At Our Lady of Angels Parish in Burlingame, our School of Religion is dedicated to nurturing the faith of our children and supporting families in their spiritual journey. Our program provides religious education and sacramental preparation for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade who are registered parishioners and attend public or non-Catholic private schools.

As catechists, we seek to foster the knowledge of the Catholic faith in our students and their families as we explore Jesus’ message of love through the Gospels. We assist our families to understand and experience liturgical and sacramental celebrations, especially the sacrament of the Eucharist. We strive to build a sense of community, attentive listening to the Word of God, and prayer-centered individuals.

Our hope is to build a faithful community of Jesus’ disciples.

Classes are offered once a week during the school year. Through engaging lessons, prayer, and participation in parish life, we guide our students to grow in their relationship with God and live out their faith with joy and purpose.

Curriculum

At Our Lady of Angels School of Religion, our curriculum is rooted in the four pillars of the Catholic faith: The Profession of Faith, The Celebration of the Christian Mystery, Life in Christ, and Christian Prayer. We utilize the Gospel Weeklies Faith Formation program to engage students in these foundational areas, encouraging parents to extend these lessons at home.
