Capuchin Development Department
Fr. Donal Burke and his family were no strangers to the Capuchins. Four Capuchins were born and educated within 4 miles of his home in Cork, Ireland. The ’Brown Robes’ were regular visitors to his local parish as these Friars returned to visit their families. One of them was his uncle, Fr. Eustace Burke, who went as a missionary to Zambia and died in Cape Town, South Africa at the age of thirty five.Fr. Donal, following in the footsteps of his uncle, heard the call of God also and joined the Capuchins. After being ordained a priest he came to the US in 1975 and has ministered in California and Oregon.
Fr. Harold Snider was born November 6, 1954 in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army before he entered the Order. He entered the Capuchin Order on August 20, 1981. He was attracted to the Order by the fact that the life and ministry of a friar is varied. He was ordained a priest on June 10, 1989. In the Order he served as a Director of Postulants, Vocation Director, Student Director, Chaplain at St. Francis High School and Associate Pastor. He loves history, good movies and reading novels. He has also served as Pastor at Our Lady of Angels. He was a chaplain at Lompoc Federal Penitentiary and Rector of the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi in San Francisco. He was elected Minister Provincial in 2014.
PLANNED GIVING SEMINAR
The Capuchin Franciscans have been privileged to serve Our Lady of Angels Parish family for nearly a century and owe a great debt of gratitude to the founding families who over the past four generations have been so generous in donating their financial resources – funds, assets and land. These gifts have sustained the Capuchin Friars in ministry to OLA’s Community for many years, and we are blessed to serve and committed to serving future generations of parishioners.
With this in mind, we will implement a Planned Giving Program, The Capuchin Franciscans Heritage Society, to support our Province into the future. This program is designed for those who are interested in remembering the Capuchin Franciscans in their estate plans.
To initiate the Capuchin Franciscans Heritage Society, we invite you to attend a presentation hosted by professionals in OLA Parish who specialize in Estate Planning, wills, trusts, major gifts, tax and other estate planning options that could benefit your families and the Capuchins. We hope by attending the presentation, you will gain important information that will assist you in your estate planning and benefit future generations.
For your convenience, two seminars will be hosted and refreshments will be served. Please join us:
