Adoration

Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging that he is a creature before his Creator. It exalts the greatness of the Lord who made us and the almighty power of the Savior who sets us free from evil. Adoration is homage of the spirit to the "King of Glory", respectful silence in the presence of the "ever greater" God. Adoration of the thrice-holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications.

As Jesus said, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve." Luke 4:8 The Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of Angels Church is a serene setting in which to follow Jesus’ admonition, to silently and humbly ponder the greatness of the King of Glory and to give thanks for the many blessing He has bestowed upon us.

We invite you to deepen your spiritual walk by making adoration a regular part of your prayer life. The Adoration Chapel is the small chapel found at the end of the Hall of Saints. Hours of Adoration are:

Monday through Friday
After the 8:00 am Mass until 7:00 pm.

Saturday
After the 8:00 am Mass until Noon.

Padre Pio

"Pray, pray to the Lord with me, because the whole world needs prayer. And every day, when your heart especially feels the loneliness of life, pray. Pray to the Lord, because even God needs our prayers

-St. Pio of Pietrelcina

The St. Padre Pio Prayer Group at OLA meets on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 am at the Friary Chapel, 1345 Cortez. Father Brian says Mass, shares a reflection on the life of Padre Pio, and we follow with refreshments. Bring your special intentions for prayer, and learn about the life of a truly remarkable Saint of our time. All are welcome to join us. Check the weekly Bulletin for our meeting dates.

Daily Rosary

Our Lady of Angels offers a daily rosary Monday - Saturday mornings starting at 7:40 am before the 8:00 am Mass.

The Parish Healing Rosary takes place on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 6:45 pm in the church. All are welcome to attend.

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross, or Way of the Cross, is a form of devotion commemorating the Passion and death of Christ. Bronze depictions of these 14 stations are mounted on the walls of the outer aisles of Our Lady of Angels.

Praying the Stations of the Cross:

A person making the Way of the Cross passes before each of these stations, pausing at each for prayer and meditation.
